Special Services Secretary Bio

Esmeralda Vela, Special Services Secretary, has been in education for 15 years with the last 5 years here in Shepherd ISD. At the Middle School, she started as the Math Paraprofessional assisting Special Education students with learning math at their own pace. Esmeralda Vela then became the Middle School Secretary in which she performed a variety of clerical, secretarial, and other minor administrative functions required for the operation of the school. Esmeralda Vela then joined the Central Office Administration as the Secretary of Curriculum and the District Translator where she took care of administrative details, scheduled appointments, and translated school communication. She has now joined the Special Education Department where she performs specialized clerical duties pertaining to the administrative support of all divisions within the department. She is in charge of SHARS, Medicaid, and maintains Special Education Students records. 

 

Esmeralda graduated from Bryan Institute in Arlington, TX as a Office Computer Specialist.
