Pirate Of The Week

Kyle Kaufman
Sarah Hood
Kyle Kaufman is a student who stays on top of all of his class work.  He trys very hard to make sure he keeps his grades up and turns in all his assignments.  He is also very involved in several sports as well as Ag.  He is dedicated to every endeavor he takes on.

My choice for Student of the Week is most definitely Sarah Hood. She is always professional, courteous, and kind. I can always count on Sarah to complete all tasks asked of her and I never have to ask more than once for her help. She is truly an asset to me and she makes my daily load a whole lot lighter. I will miss her very much when she graduates and I can only hope for more office aides like her next year.

Greg Bliss
Megan Reid
Greg is a percussionist and drum major for the H.S. Royal Blue Band. He competes and advances in multiple U.I.L. Academic events. He is also an Area Band Finalist and All-State Xylophone Soloist two years running. He performs with the "Shades of Blue" Jazz Band as a self-taught piano player. Greg is someone that goes above and beyond the call of duty, he is someone you can trust and count on. Greg is a mentor to most and an example of what all Shepherd students should strive to be.

Although, I do not come in contact with her much, as far as her duties go, it seems like she gets them done with vigor.  As an Office Aide, her cordiality at the front desk, as far as helping those who come to the window, is great!!  She is full of help to other teachers as well.  Thank you Megan for your work well done, which is an example to us all.

Sydney Benge

Edgar Fuentes

All teachers can appreciate a student like Sydney Benge.  She is always prepared to give her best, no matter what the task.  Her ability to see the big picture is not clouded by her attention to the small detail.  Which is why Sydney is my pick, for student of the week.

Edgar is the perfect student!  He has perfect attendance, always has his homework, is never a distraction in class, and always brings a pencil!  I wish I had 100 more just like him.  Thanks Edgar for being a pleasure to teach!

Nisa Fregia
Jacob McMahan

Nisa is a very dedicated and driven individual. She has won several awards for her poetry and has even had a couple of her poems published. She plans on going to college after high school. She wants to be a lawyer.

Jacob McMahan is a great student.  He is always helpful to staff and other students.  Jacob works hard in his classes and is eager to learn.
Morgan Kneale
Billy Doverspike
Outstanding student in Pre AP Biology I
Morgan is a conscencious, hard-working, attentative student, who has good instincts for solving scientific problems.
Billy has shown a drastic improvement & a willingness to participate. He helps others connect the lesson to everyday practicality. He isn't one to brag about how far he has come, but knows he still wants to improve & feels he can. Billy can be an example of what it takes to overcome struggles & demonstrate personal growth & academic success.
Dave Phillips
Rebecca Ruiz
He exemplifies great character and integrity in his dealings with his peers and teachers. Dave is willing to do anything he is asked and he always makes an effort to put a smile of the faces that surround him. Dave is a great example of a great young man.
Recently Rebecca did a project for Shepherd ISD. Mrs. Basham entered her project for the rodeo and she won an award!! Rebeccca is an all around great student and we are so proud to have her as a part of our school.

Francisco Carreon

Jessica Scopa

Francisco is my choice for student of the week because he always has a smile on his face, something pleasant to say, and always has his work done in a timely manner.  He is a great student for any teacher to have, and seems to be a great friend to his fellow students.

Jessica is a very hard worker, always prepared for class and values her education.  I see a day in the future when Jessica will be the President or CEO of a large corporation.
Ariel Young
Curtis Lane
Ariel Young is my pick for “Student of the Week”, she is a student athlete, keeps an good average in her classes. She is a hard worker and is truly motivated to make good grades. She completes all her assignments and puts effort into everything she does. Curtis has matured into a fine young man who works hard and is proud of his school.
He has participated in athletics every year of high school, keeps his grades up and rarely causes problems in the classroom.
Ana Pacheco
Jose Ponce
Ana Pacheco always has a smile on her face and is a great help to others.  Always translating for those who do not understand English or Spanish. Jose Ponce is very attentive in class.  He performs well on all classwork and works very diligently in labs.  He is a leader in his lab group and his group always gets good results.  He is very respectful of his peers and teachers.  Students should take note of his good qualities and strive to "Be Like Jose".
Courtney Patterson
Chance Murphy
Courtney has a pleasant disposition, a quiet nature and usually a smile on her face. She is friendly, willing to assist others when needed and an overall good student. Her creativity is expressed in types of projects she submits in class and the activities she is involved in at the high school.

Chance has had some hard things in his life  that he has used to help others. He has a goal to become a paramedic when he graduates from high school. He volunteers a lot of his free time riding with the local ambulance service. I think that
Chance is a young man that has success in his future because he has a plan. He is investing in that plan right now by studying and by putting himself in a position to learn things to help him accomplish his goals. I appreciate Chance's good attitide and the good example he is setting for those around him.
